Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says club skipper Harry Maguire is still a big doubt for the Europa League final clash with Villarreal from the Spanish La Liga despite the news that the centre back has started walking.

Solksjaer talked about the injury to Maguire in his pre-match press conference ahead of the final league game of the present season at Wolves. According to the former Manchester United striker, Maguire is walking on the injured leg at the moment before adding that walking is a long way away from running with the Europa League final just some days away.

Manchester United will face hosts Wolves at the Molineux on Sunday afternoon before taking on Villarreal in the Europa League final on Wednesday. The game against the Yellow Submarines in the Europa League represents a good opportunity for the club to end the season with at least one trophy. The Red Devils have not won a major trophy in four years since beating Dutch team Ajax Amsterdam 2-0 to win the same competition at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Solskjaer and his players are on course to face Villarreal without skipper Maguire who suffered the injury during the recent league game at Aston Villa. The ankle injury sustained by the England international overshadowed the 3-1 away win over Villa.

At the time of his injury, Maguire was rated as doubtful and the situation has remained the same two weeks later even if he had graduated from using crutches to walking on the injured leg. Solskjaer says he will give his skipper every chance to be fit for the big match against Villarreal.

Since the injury to Maguire, Manchester United have not won a game.  They are winless in the last three games in the Premier League including defeats against rivals Liverpool and newly crowned FA Cup champions Leicester City.
